Extreme Power Wheels

Yesterday I got a call from Cassie and she casually mentioned a video that Coco came across on You Tube about "modifying" your Power Wheels. Well, when I got off the phone with Cass, I looked it up to show Tim-- an hour later we were at the store buying the supplies. Tim was so excited about it he has been coming up with more and more ideas to make it bigger and badder than what is probably necessary. For those of you who are unfamiliar with a Power Wheel-- it's a child's electric car (usually suitable for a kid 2-8ish our kids have been exposed to these from a much earlier age-- of course-- they have Tim for a dad). Anyway the typical car comes with a 12 volt battery and Tim has come up with a way to rig it to an 18 volt (for starters-- he plans on taking the gator to 24) and then he has added bike treads to the tires for extra traction. Tonight while we were out for girls night-- he had all of the boys at our house for boys night. He used Caleb as his guinea pig for most of the testing because, quote, "he is the oldest boy with the fastest reflexes when problems occur-- and if he gets hurt, at least it's not our kid!" Truly a great uncle... Caleb did great and it goes pretty fast. To give you an idea-- it is almost as fast as our new go-cart. He says, it's just the jumping off point-- the gator will be faster!

Here is where the new batteries are squeezed in-- just a little bigger than the last one. He has piggy-backed a 12volt and a 6volt for maximum speed. The first time Em took it for a spin he popped a wheelie because he isn't heavy enough to keep it down-- YIKES! (he loved it)
He took some BMX bike tire treads and added them for more traction.
The "turbo" button is for the kids (or maybe for Timmy) because it looks really cool! The kids thought so too! (videos will be coming soon!!)

That is SO funny! Anything that has to do with power and Timmy is all over it! Chris is totally jealous that he didn't get to do it. We can't wait for the video's! Next time Cam rides he will definately have to have a seat belt! Way to go Timmy!!! I think this totally beats Science Night and once again puts him in the best daddy ever category!

Is it any wonder his name is "Tim Taylor?" Honestly! That is really funny. The turbo button is pretty darn cool. I'd like one of those for my car. Nice work, TIm.

Looks fun...just wait until the modifications start turning up on your car. There has been talk of a snorkel being put on my 4 runner. Hey does the turbo have that sound that goes with it?
