Breckyn's Valentine's Dance

Breckyn's class at school has been training everyone dance etiquette.  They have been learning different dances for the past month like the cha cha, line dancing, swing and slow dancing.  They set it up so that all the kids danced with everyone.  They taught the boys how to escort the girls back to their seats when the dance was over.  They learned all sorts of helpful tips to take some of the awkward guess work out of going to a dance.  At the end of the unit they had the kids decorate and plan a Valentine's dance.  They told them to wear their Sunday best and they spent a good part of the day setting up the gym and decorating for the big event.  Then after lunch they invited the parents to come and see the big show.
Here she is all dressed up and ready to go.  She tried on about sixty gazillion different combos and finally settled on this one.
I found this cute corsage bracelet to make the whole outfit feel special.
They had the kids ask their parents to dance.  B was excited to show her Dad a few moves.  They would tell the kids what type of dance to do and who should ask who.  So the announcer would say something like, "Swing, boys choice."  It took all the pressure off the kids and everyone had a great time.
She was glowing.  She had the best day ever.  Although, now that it's all over she is moping around wishing they would do it again.  It was a big hit at the Taylor house.  Z can't wait until her turn next year.

A little Taylor Fun...

If you are a Modern Family fan then you'll appreciate these next few pictures.
Last Sunday the girlies talked Em into letting them fancy him up.  They got out dresses and make up-- the whole bit.  He thought it was so funny.
I died when Modern Family had the same thing on the next week!  Blaha ha!  We have our own Betty Luke.
Rex enjoys a good pose for the camera.  It cracks me up, so I like to encourage it a little too much.
This is my friend Libby.  She is the cutest thing you'll ever see.  She talks nonstop.  She knows just what she wants and just how you can get it for her.  I love that kid.
Here are two more of my girlie friends.  These two beauties sure know how to shop.
Super Rugby!  He thinks he's pretty funny.  See that twitchy smirk?  It's his tell.
Em, never a dull moment with this kid.  He is on full blast all day every day.
 Word.  Mr. Cool Cat.
Z is officially old.  Can you see it?  This was her Valentine's ensemble.  Just a hint of red and pretty heart earrings.  Simple and tasteful-- she's getting a hang of this style thing.
